Health and wellness food manufacturing specialist, Food Nutrition Partners (FNP) has supported the development and delivery of TEKS – a disruptive new protein bar range fronted by five-time world record football freestyler, Ben Nuttall.
Initially tailored for the footballing community both on and off the pitch, the three-flavour range will launch with triple layered bars that include salted caramel, cookies & cream and chocolate brownie flavours, all packed with 21g of protein and 4.6g of fibre
Using its expertise in nutritional bar manufacturing at its state-of-the-art production facility in Northamptonshire, FNP worked collaboratively with Ben and the team to create a product that stands out from the typical options on the market.
The focus was on using premium ingredients and creating a smooth, doughy texture combined with crunchy protein crisps and an oozing liquid layer. Each bar has a low sugar, high fibre and high protein content, all without compromising on great taste and quality, and delivered to tight timescales ahead of the launch.
Chris Kent, business development manager at Food Nutrition Partners, said: “From the outset, Ben had a clear vision for what he wanted TEKS to be – a protein bar that genuinely tasted great while still delivering on quality and nutrition. Together we’ve been able to showcase not only our manufacturing capabilities at scale, but also our ability to collaborate with brands to bring innovative, market-ready products to life quickly and effectively.
“It’s an exciting time to launch, and according to consumer insights group Tracksuit, nearly 45% of Brits buy protein bars. Our team worked closely with Ben throughout the development process to create a product that matched Ben’s vision and resonated with his audience as he enters this competitive space – just in time as football fever builds ahead of the FIFA World Cup this June.”
The partnership focused heavily on achieving the right texture, taste and nutritional profile, while ensuring the product could be produced efficiently and compliantly for a fast route to market.
Ben Nuttall, founder of TEKS, said: “We wanted to make something that people would want to eat daily, helping them to achieve their best performance through high-quality nutrition. As someone who relies on great nutrition to do their job, I know that getting the right nutritional profile can sometimes be hard – we want to change that.
“Flavour, texture and ingredients are key for this, so we needed to find the right partner to help us create a product that will cut through the market.”
Ben Maughan, CEO at TEKS, added: “We were looking for a trusted manufacturing partner that could deliver both quality and scale, and Food Nutrition Partners was the ideal choice. Every meeting and factory visit has felt like a collaboration, helping us to bring this fast-paced launch to market at just the right time.”
