Ypsilanti Co-op plans to expand bakery

Ypsilanti Food Co-op plans to expand their baking area so that shoppers will be able to get closer to their baked products while they are being prepared.

The decision came after the success of their wood-fired oven, that attracts customers who enjoy watching their food being made. With the added baking area, consumers will be able to see their bread as it's baking. The move fits in with the increasing trend of grab-and-go snacks.

Although the company have no set date for the expansion, general manager, Corinne Sikorski, said they hope to start this year.
